All boards in th 5’0″ to 8’0″ range basically have a similar bottom shape for responsiveness and sensitivity.
This bottom shape has vee in the nose to concave under your front foot to double barrel concave under your back foot to kick in the tail.
Vee Nose- for more paddle power, not pushing water, for easier and better wave entry. Helps release the tail for bottom turns and cutbacks. Also, when popping airs, it doesn’t slap on the flat, it gives you better landing direction.
Concave- Under your front foot for uplift on the face of the wave, good for staying higher and tighter in the barrel.
Double Barrel Concave- Under your back foot to control easy turning, excellent release and lift for speed. The ridge down the center of the concave provides old school vee sensitivity idea for rail to rail maneuverability.
Kick in Tail- For water release, projection, and for you to set your board on any trajectory angle out of your turns- 12 o’clock if you like!
These subtle bottom contours blended together create a very sensitive surfboard. Along with forgiving rails with hard tucked under edges, which is the key to rail release. Time to enjoy the ride!
Boards are crafted by hand, so please allow 6-12 weeks minimum
